A thousand years ago a great cataclysm sundered the sun and tore open the gates of death. The world now is one of eternal night and waning twilight, prowled by the hungry souls of the dead. The great industrial city of Duskvol stands firm as a beacon in the dark, but also illuminates the rifts and factions between the haves and have-nots.
In Blades in the Dark, players make up a crew of daring scoundrels seeking their fortune on the haunted streets of an industrial-fantasy city. The fledgling crew must thrive amongst threats of rival gangs, powerful noble families, vengeful ghosts, the Bluecoats of the city watch, and the siren call of their own vices.
In this one-shot, the players will create characters and form a crew. They will have a chance to run a mission and explore what Duskvol has to offer. This game focuses on a "fiction-first" narrative so the design is a little different from traditional ttrpgs like D&D.
I try to be a fair GM and promote a fun gaming table. I allow for the opportunity of creativity, whether or not the dice roll favorably is another matter.
